Transform The World! Poetry Must Be Made by All! at MoMA

Saturday, April 20th from 3-4pm, hear BOWWOW Poets David Acevedo, Joyce LeeAnn Joseph, Nikhil Melnechuk, and many others, perform at MoMa on the 4th Floor.

In celebration of National Poetry Month The Museum of Modern Art presents Transform The World! Poetry Must Be Made by All! For a full hour, the galleries come alive with the sounds of spoken word, as poets read their own works and those of others. The poets, ranging from emerging to established, from conventional to experimental, demonstrate and celebrate the broad range of American poetry today amid great works of postwar modern art in the Museum’s collection.

Visit MoMA’s Event Page for more info, or Follow us on Twitter. Museum admission required.

We Go With The Club.

The Bowery Poetry Club is changing. But is it closing? “No Way, Joe!” The BPC is growing up. And we BOWWOWs want to say:

We Go With The Club.

Our cadre of poets started with Bob Holman’s encouragement at a Bowery Poetry Club “Stakeholder’s Tea,” and for the past two years, we’ve been honored to put over 60 poets and 25 musicians on that famous stage.

If the Club’s growing up, we’re growing up, too. We’d like to formally put ourselves up for a spot at the NEW Bowery Poetry Club Duane Park in 2013.

In the meantime, we’re hard at work on the BOWWOW Book. Stay tuned.

BOWWOW is on the RADIO!

LISTEN NOW to BOWWOW 13 (February) on ARTonAIR.org, the Clocktower Gallery’s radio station.

“Poets Tovah DiPrinzio, Noah Levin, Sarah Matthes, Bob Holman, and Katrina Cunningham performed their poetry at the Bowery Poetry Club on February 2nd, 2012. For the musical act of the night, Susanne Layton sang 40s French Jazz.

To quote the wisdom of Bob Holman, “I’m a writer–I can do no wrong.” With this as the official epitaph of BOWWOW February, the reading had a little bit of everything to offer. The profound poets pontificated on subject matter ranging from the disillusionment of young adulthood to a revelatory lysergic acid experience.”

You can catch BOWWOW live at the Bowery Poetry Club, first Thursdays of every month at 10 pm.
